So happy to have chosen Cullen Nurseries to supply, plant and fertilize our new Red Robin hedge. Great customer service from Caitriona and really pleased with the very professional job Rob & his colleague did planting them. Pics don't do them justice - this was the day they were planted - 61 x 2l Red Robins - really healthy looking plants. Delighted and looking forward to seeing them grow over the years. Thank you!

Caring for Your Sweet Chestnut Trees:

Planting and caring for these Trees in Ireland is a rewarding experience. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Planting: Choose a sunny, well-drained location with slightly acidic to neutral soil. Loamy soil works best. Our trees are prepared for planting, and our guidance ensures a smooth start.
  • Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist, especially during dry spells. Deep watering supports robust root development.
  • Mulching: Proper mulching retains moisture, regulates soil temperature, and suppresses weeds, promoting healthier trees.
  • Pruning: Prune sparingly, removing dead or damaged branches in late winter or early spring. Encourage a single central leader branch for a strong structure.

Absolutely thrilled with my ordered Sweet Chestnut Tree from Cullens. From the moment it arrived, I knew I was going to love it. The tree was really well packed so my tree arrived in great condition and ready for its new home. What struck me immediately was the tree’s robust and healthy appearance. Cullens takes great care in cultivating these trees, as mine arrived with a well-established root system and strong, vibrant leaves. I can highly recommend!
