We deliver throughout Ireland and Northern Ireland. Wherever possible, we handle deliveries ourselves to ensure your plants arrive in perfect condition.
All plants are freshly lifted to order, so please allow up to 7 days for processing and dispatch — or up to 14 days during the busy bare-root season. Each order is carefully packaged in lined bags to protect plants during transport.

Liquidambar styraciflua ‘Worplesdon’ is a superb choice for Irish gardens seeking autumn brilliance and year-round interest. Known for its striking, deeply lobed foliage, the Worplesdon variety distinguishes itself with a more reliable and intense autumn display than the standard Liquidambar styraciflua. From late summer into autumn, its leaves transform through a spectacular palette of fiery oranges, deep crimsons, and glowing purples, making it one of the most impressive ornamental trees for seasonal colour in Ireland.
Unlike the common Sweet Gum (Liquidambar styraciflua), which can be slower to establish, the ‘Worplesdon’ cultivar is noted for its stronger growth, hardiness, and greater resilience to the Irish climate. It also tends to hold its colour longer into the season, ensuring a longer-lasting autumn show. Its upright, pyramidal form makes it suitable for medium to large gardens, avenues, or as a specimen tree in a lawn setting.

What is the difference between Liquidambar Worplesdon and the standard Liquidambar tree?
The ‘Worplesdon’ cultivar (Liquidambar styraciflua ‘Worplesdon’) produces a more consistent and vibrant autumn colour display compared to the standard Liquidambar styraciflua. It is also better suited to Irish conditions, establishing more quickly and holding its leaf colour longer into the season.
When is the best time to plant Liquidambar Worplesdon in Ireland?
As a bare root tree, the ideal planting season is from November through March, when the tree is dormant. This ensures the best chance for strong root establishment before the growing season.
How tall does Liquidambar Worplesdon grow?
A mature Liquidambar styraciflua ‘Worplesdon’ can reach heights of 12–15 metres, with a graceful, upright shape. This makes it a superb choice for larger gardens, parkland settings, or as a striking avenue tree.
