Horse Chestnut Tree – Aesculus hippocastanum
The Horse Chestnut is a large deciduous fast-growing tree most easily recognised by it’s pendulous branches, large leaves and broad domed crown.
The creamy white flowers that appear on the Horse chestnut in May are a valuable nectar source for bees. Early Autumn bring the spiky fruit of the tree which is known as the Conker.
