We deliver throughout Ireland and Northern Ireland. Wherever possible, we handle deliveries ourselves to ensure your plants arrive in perfect condition.
All plants are freshly lifted to order, so please allow up to 7 days for processing and dispatch — or up to 14 days during the busy bare-root season. Each order is carefully packaged in lined bags to protect plants during transport.

Commonly called the Cockspur Thorn, Crataegus persimilis prunifolia is a hardy ornamental hawthorn tree valued for its shiny foliage, white blossom, and vivid autumn colour. In May, it produces clusters of fragrant white flowers, loved by pollinators. By late summer, glossy dark green leaves give way to a fiery autumn display of reds, oranges, and purples. Bright red haws (berries) follow, providing food for birds and adding seasonal interest into winter.
This small to medium-sized tree has a dense, rounded crown and is armed with stout thorns, making it both ornamental and practical for hedging or boundary planting. Its tough, resilient nature means it thrives in Irish conditions, tolerating wind, pollution, and a wide range of soils.
Supplied at 8ft in height, with 6/8cm girth, these trees are available all year round from pots, or from November through March/April as a bare root tree. Hardy, low-maintenance, and wildlife-friendly, Crataegus persimilis is an excellent choice for Irish gardens and landscapes. Whitethorn trees are also a fabulous companion to these Cockspur Thorn trees.
