Acer Crimson Sentry Maple Tree
Acer Crimson Sentry Maple Trees are a smaller type of Maple Tree making it ideal for smaller gardens. It has a narrow form and dark purple leaves on predominately upright branches. Leaves appear red in Spring, change to darker red/purple in Summer before turning Crimson in Autumn months.
It does well in a well drained moist soil and is tolerant of pollution. It will also thrive in coastal areas. It can reach heights of 6 metres and maintains a smaller spread of about 2 metres.
The purple leaves of the Crimson Sentry Maple are in stark contrast to the yellow tones of the Acer Princeton Gold or Acer Drummondii. It differs also in colour to that of the Acer Rubrum Maple trees which have a green leaf in Spring Fading to bright red in Autumn.
